Members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić and Šefik Džaferović laid flowers at the Šehidski mezar Kovači (cemetery) in Sarajevo on country’s Independence Day, Patria News Agency reports.

Komšić said that this opportunity is “to remember our fellows who died for this country” as well as those who lost their health or parts of the body for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Komsic added that a man may be disappointed in politics and authorities in power but cannot be disappointed in his homeland.

BiH Presidency Member Šefik Džaferović said that citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina voted, “and the best sons gave their lives for a whole, democratic state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”

“There is a number of examples of discrimination but there is no doubt that we will finally achieve our goal – a full and democratic BiH, a country in which all peoples will be able to live in peace and prosperity,” Džaferovic said.

He expressed his conviction that BiH will become a member of the European Union and NATO alliance.
