Member of Presidency of BiH meets the Head of the EU Delegation in BiH

Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željko Komšić, today received Ambassador Johan Sattler, head of the EU Delegation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Sattler congratulated Komšić on his election as a member of the BiH Presidency and provided information on the latest activities being conducted in the EU institutions regarding the granting of candidate status to Bosnia and Herzegovina. On that occasion, he thanked Komšić for his active role in that process, and was interested in his work priorities for the next four years.

Komšić highlighted three priorities. The first priority is the continuation of engagement in support of BiH institutions on the further path to BiH membership in NATO. The second priority is the full fulfillment of 14 priorities from the Opinion of the European Commission in order to ensure faster progress towards the adoption of EU standards in BiH legislation. The interlocutors agreed that in the next four years, activities on this plan will be much more intense, and that the realization of 14 priorities should be the focus of future authorities at all levels.

The third priority will be to support the institutions in solving socioeconomic issues, especially the response to inflation forecasts and how to facilitate investments especially in the energy sector in the context of the green agenda for the Western Balkans.

Sattler informed Komšić about the focus of the EU Delegation in the coming period, which will be aimed at fighting crime and corruption and strengthening the judicial system in BiH, the BiH Presidency announced.
