Members of B&H Presidency Meet With Federal Chancellor of Republic of Austria Werner Faymann

imageChairman of the BiH Presidency Bakir Izetbegović and Member of the BiH Presidency Željko Komšić welcomed Chancellor of the Republic of Austria Werner Faymann.

They informed him about the situation and consequences caused by natural disaster, damage assessment, needs and priorities in revovery and restoration process, and preparations for the donor conference.

They thanked for the assistance that Austria has sent to BiH, especially engagement of members and resources of Austrian Armed Forces in rescuing endangered population through EUFOR.

They also thanked for financial assistance of one million euros that the Government of Austria approved on May 22, and offer of Austria to send special mine action teams to clear the area contaminated by landmines.

It was assessed that political relations and cooperation are good in all fields.

They emphasized volume and importance of Austrian investments for BiH and that Austria is one of the biggest foreign investors in BiH.

They mentioned initiative for negotiations on Agreement on hiring workers from BiH in Austria and initiative for agreement on cultural and scientific cooperation.

Topic of the meeting was also EU enlargement process to the Western Balkan countries and Chancellor Faymann supported urgent internal reforms in BiH and in other countries of the region.

Foreign Policy Adviser Neda Lazarević attended the meeting on behalf of Member of the BiH Presidency Nebojša Radmanović, the BiH Presidency said.
