Members of BiH Presidency congratulated May Day

Members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina sent congratulations on the occasion of May 1 – International Labor Day.

“International Labor Day is an opportunity to point out the historical importance of the multi-generational struggle of workers for their rights. The daily challenges faced by workers even today call us to the responsibility of working to improve the status of workers. The fight for prosperity and a dignified life for citizens who work diligently must be in the focus of all of us, in order to contribute to the construction of a fairer and better society. I congratulate all workers in Bosnia and Herzegovina on May 1 – International Labor Day,” reads the congratulation of the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, on the occasion of May 1 – International Labor Day.

Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željka Cvijanović pointed out in a congratulatory message addressed to citizens, workers and trade unions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the occasion of May 1, International Labor Day, that improving the rights and material status of workers is a permanent obligation of all competent institutions.

“The celebration of May 1st is an opportunity to remind ourselves of all those who paved the way for fairer and more humane working conditions, building a better society and equal opportunities for everyone, but also to highlight the importance of man as the most important resource of today,” the congratulatory message states.

Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić sent a congratulatory message to all workers in Bosnia and Herzegovina on the occasion of the International Labor Day on May 1.

“May Day reminds us of the historic struggle for the principle of social equality through the struggle for the rights of workers and the reduction of inappropriate social and material differences between people. Workers are the driving force of every society, including ours in Bosnia and Herzegovina. From the mobility and position enjoyed by the most numerous category depends on the overall social relations in the country, that’s why the level of rights that workers have today in Bosnia and Herzegovina is of vital importance for the country,” the congratulatory message said.

He added that “authorities at all levels, together with employers and the state as an employer, are obliged to offer workers adequate working conditions, not only because they must respect the legal framework, but also out of responsibility towards the community and society in general”.
