Members of BiH Presidency met with the Minister of FA of North Macedonia

Members of the BiH Presidency Željko Komšić and Denis Bećirović expressed their satisfaction at the opportunity to talk with the Chairman of the OSCE and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia, Bujar Osmani, about current topics of importance for Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region. They emphasized the important role and importance of the OSCE in conflict prevention, and expressed commitment to continued cooperation in order to preserve peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the region and the world.

The members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina congratulated Minister Osmani on the chairmanship of the OSCE in 2023 and supported the work and engagement of North Macedonia in this largest regional security organization. They welcomed the focus of the activities of the North Macedonian chairmanship of the OSCE on the needs and interests of the people, their well-being and security, guided by the basic values and principles of this organization.

Chairman of the OSCE and Minister of Foreign Affairs Osmani informed the members of the Presidency of BiH with the priorities of action, with the aim of improving the quality of life of people through reconciliation, dialogue, trust and cooperation in challenging and difficult times.

The chairman of the OSCE said that the organization represents a constant partner to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that through its Mission and its eight field offices, it continues to provide support for the reform path in order to improve the lives of all citizens. The priority of OSCE activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be on reconciliation, building trust, fighting corruption and providing support for the participation of women and young people in the process of making relevant decisions.

Chairman Osmani congratulated the members of the BiH Presidency on the award of candidate status, expressing his belief that Bosnia and Herzegovina will make progress on the European path in all areas and for the benefit of the citizens, in which the OSCE, within its capacities, will continue to support them.

Counselor Đorđe Šarčević attended the meeting on behalf of the Chairperson of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović.
