Members of BiH Presidency met with the President of Azerbaijan

Members of the BiH Presidency expressed their satisfaction with the visit of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and said that it will give a new dynamic to the relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Azerbaijan.

They expressed their gratitude to Azerbaijan for continuous support and investments in numerous implemented projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina. They expressed special thanks for the help of Azerbaijan during the floods in 2014, as well as during the coronavirus pandemic.

Special attention during the talks was given to today’s signing of the Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Azerbaijan. It was pointed out that this is a new type of cooperation, a strategic partnership that will bring improvement of political, economic and other types of cooperation in the future.

President Ilham Aliyev said that his visit today is a confirmation of Azerbaijan’s support for Bosnia and Herzegovina. He expressed Azerbaijan’s interest in more intensive investments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and readiness to implement concrete projects of the two strategic partners in the future.

Most of the attention during the talks was devoted to infrastructural projects, gas pipeline construction and gas supply projects, and cooperation in the fields of economy, energy, tourism, science and culture.

At the meeting, it was said that bilateral relations between the two countries are good and friendly and that there are no open issues, which is the basis for further strengthening of cooperation in accordance with mutually expressed interests on the bilateral and international level. Satisfaction was expressed with the cooperation so far on the international multilateral level, and with the support exchanged so far.

It was emphasized that the cooperation between the two friendly countries will be further enhanced by the fact that the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been opened and that the embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Baku is expected to open soon.
