Predsjednistvo i Serge Brammertz 4Members of the BiH Presidency received yesterday in Sarajevo the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (UN ICTY) Serge Brammertz.

Chairman of the BiH Presidency Nebojša Radmanović and member of BiH Presidency wished the Chief Prosecutor a warm welcome and expressed satisfaction with the good cooperation with the Hague Tribunal.

During the meeting they exchange opinions on the activities of the Hague Tribunal.

Speaking of the individual judgments, members of the BiH Presidency said that in BiH there are various opinions on this topic. They pointed out that some judgments brought instability in the region, and that it would not contribute to reconciliation to this region, which is not good for BIH and the region.

At the meeting they spoke of the recent debate held in New York on the topic “Role of International Criminal Tribunal in Reconciliation”. They said that on this occasion the consistent view of the Presidency of BIH was conveyed, and pointed out the differences that exist in relation to the work of the tribunal.

The Chief Prosecutor Brammertz expressed the opinion that in New York an opportunity was missed to make a positive impact on reconciliation. He expressed satisfaction at the cooperation with the authorities in BIH, and provided support to the ICTY judicial institutions in our country.
