Commander of the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo, Brigadier General Matthew Valas, visited the Saber Junction 24 exercise in Germany two days ago.
“It was an excellent opportunity to visit soldiers from the Light Infantry Battalion Group of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AFBiH) at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center (JMRC) in Hohenfels, Germany. They are motivated to train and gain experience in a dynamic and extremely demanding exercise,” said Brigadier General Valas.
The exercise brings together over 4,000 personnel from allied and partner countries, with the aim of testing their readiness and ability to conduct joint ground operations.
This year, for the first time, the AFBiH participate in this exercise as an entire platoon.
This exercise will significantly contribute to strengthening the operational capabilities and interoperability of the AFBiH with allied forces.
