Last weekend, members of the Gradiška Border Police Unit prevented the smuggling of 27 people of Afro-Asian origin at the Gradiška International Border Crossing.

Smuggling was detected at the second line of border checks during the control of a Scania truck and a Krone trailer with Lithuanian registration plates, driven by S. V., a citizen of Lithuania.

Due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that the criminal offense of human smuggling was committed, the duty prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and the judge for the preliminary proceedings of the Court of BiH were informed about the incident.

The suspect was deprived of his liberty and a report on the committed criminal offense was submitted to the competent prosecutor’s office.

The cargo vehicle and other evidence were temporarily confiscated, and the smuggled migrants were handed over to the Service for Affairs with Foreigners for further processing, the Border Police of BiH announced.
