b_161114022Minister of Civil Affairs of BiH Adil Osmanović, who is staying in an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, met in Riyadh with the Minister of Education of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Issa. On this occasion, they signed a Memorandum of understanding on educational and scientific cooperation between the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This is the first memorandum signed between the two countries in the field of education and science which, among other things, foresees improvement and development of cooperation in the field of education and science through the exchange of information on educational systems and programs, and by encouraging immediate scientific and educational links between academic and scientific-research institutions.

Moreover, this memorandum is an attempt to provide students with an opportunity to study medicine and related medical sciences at higher education institutions in both countries, and it also encourages the organization of scientific and cultural events.

The ministers also discussed bilateral relations of the two countries in the field of education and science and they concluded that although the overall relations are friendly, there is still space for improvement of cooperation in many areas in the fields of education and science.

After the signing ceremony, Osmanović visited the oldest and largest higher education institution in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the University King Saud, as well as the University Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud, the Institute for Science and Technology King Abdulaziz City, and the Fund for Development of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
