Memorial Home for Liberators of Sarajevo to be constructed on Zuc

memorialConstruction of the Memorial Center for liberators of the Municipality Novi Grad and the city of Sarajevo started at the place of the former Cultural Centre on Zuc Hill.

The foundation stone for the construction of the Memorial Center, which will make the entrance to the memorial complex of Zuc, was laid on the 8th of June, on the Day of the Defense of Novi Grad Sarajevo, and after the procedure for selecting a contractor took place, conditions for the realization of this important project were realized.

Workers of the construction company Sela Ltd. have done preparatory earthworks and constructed the foundations for the future facility, and the rest of reinforced concrete works is currently being performed, after which they will proceed to the installation works.

The total value of the project amounted to almost 350,000 BAM, and the Municipality of Novi Grad allocated 50,000 BAM from this year’s budget for the 1st phase.

The Memorial Center will contain museum amenities, a memorial room of the Brigade of Novi Grad and other brigades that fought at Zuc Hill, in order to present everything that happened in this region in the recent war. Memorial Center will have one part of catering facilities, so that the citizens of Sarajevo can often come to a place where you can see the whole Sarajevo, have a coffee, take a walk…
