The Principal Deputy High Representative and Brčko District Supervisor Jonathan Mennuti paid his first official visit to Brčko on Thursday where he met District officials, international partners, as well as representatives of law-enforcement bodies to discuss the progress of reforms in Brčko.

Supervisor Mennuti met with the District Government and Assembly leadership, as well as representatives of caucuses and independent delegates in the District Assembly. He stressed that authorities need to remain focused on keeping the public administration reform and ongoing infrastructure projects on track so that citizens can see tangible results by fall.

Brčko Supervisor also met with representatives of the OSCE and the EU Delegation in Brčko to discuss further cooperation and coordination in helping the Brčko authorities achieve their reform objectives.

In his meeting with Brčko Police Chief, the District Chief Prosecutor, and representatives of the District Anti-Corruption Office and the Commission for Assessing Conflict of Interest, Supervisor Mennuti underscored the importance of close cooperation and coordination of all relevant bodies in entrenching a policy of zero-tolerance for corruption and conflict of interest in the District.

The continuity of reforms must be guaranteed for Brčko to achieve its stated objectives and deliver shared prosperity to the community. As long as the authorities remain committed, they will enjoy the assistance and support of international partners, Mennuti stated.
