In a letter to the Director of Sarajevska Zima Ibrahim Spahić by Irina Bokovo, the General Director of UNESCO, it states that UNESCO is a sponsor of Sarajevska Zima because the festival is a great cultural stage for social and economic development of the community and its program promotes cultural diversity.
In a special message for the opening of the festival, General Director Irina Bokova said that the festival is one of the major events that contribute to universal values and artistic exchange programs and the special honoring of artists and organizers, as well as honorary participants from Greece and special guest from South Korea, announced the Sarajevska Zima Press Office.
