Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum has ordered Economy Minister Marcel Ebrard to implement tariff and non-tariff measures to protect the country’s interests after the United States imposed tariffs on goods from Mexico.

US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order imposing tariffs on goods from Canada, Mexico and China, which are the US’s largest trading partners.
Explaining the tariffs, Trump said that Canada is responsible for large amounts of drug trafficking into the US. He said that drugs were also entering the country through Mexico, and China was the producer.
