Sending members of the Montenegrin Army to Ukraine is not currently an option, nor is it the subject of any discussions, stated the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatovic, during his visit to Bucharest.

Milatovic, who met with the President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, said that the process of European integration represents a priority of Montenegro’s foreign policy and expressed the expectation that Montenegro will become a full member of the European Union (EU) by 2028.

During the meeting, the importance of the alliance between the two countries within the NATO framework was emphasized, and both countries expressed full commitment to jointly addressing regional security challenges, according to a statement from the office of the President of Montenegro.

The President of Romania emphasized that official Bucharest strongly supports Montenegro’s European path, adding that the country is an important partner that significantly contributes to the stability of the Western Balkans.
