The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željko Komšić, met with the Ambassador of Egypt to BiH, Walid Ahmed Abdelfattah Hagagg who conveyed an invitation from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to attend the ceremonial opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum.

Ambassador Abdelfattah highlighted the significance of the event, noting that President El-Sisi wishes to see world leaders and Egypt’s friends present at the inauguration of the museum, which has been under construction for 15 years. The Grand Egyptian Museum will serve as the key institution for preserving and promoting Egyptian and global heritage, showcasing many artifacts that will be displayed to the public for the first time.

Komšić expressed gratitude for the invitation, saying he was honored by Egypt’s gesture towards Bosnia and Herzegovina. He also inquired about Egypt’s stance regarding the destruction in Gaza and the humanitarian crisis caused by Israel’s military actions and violations of international humanitarian law.

Ambassador presented Egypt’s diplomatic and humanitarian efforts in response to the crisis. Both sides agreed that the Palestinian people are facing one of the gravest moments in their history and described the situation as a disgrace for the international community. They expressed hope for an immediate halt to civilian casualties and an increase in humanitarian aid to Gaza, the Presidency of BiH announced.
