Military-Diplomatic Corps Visited BiH Border Police

grani?na policija 1The Military-Diplomatic Corps in BiH, led by Doyen Brigadier General Andreas Rotter was on a working visit yesterday to the BiH Border Police, where Director Vinko Dumančić received him with his colleagues.

Director Dumančić spoke with representatives of the military-Diplomatic Corps from Austria, Romania, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Germany, Russia, Iran, China, Coratia and Spain on the organization, functioning and activities that this police agency leads.

He said that in the last period the border police in BIH made significant progress in the area of border checks, especially with the new application established with the support of the European Commission, announced the BIH Border Police.

He also added that actions directed against trafficking of persons and illegal migration: “Una”, “Loka”, “Loka II”, “Kašmir“, as well as “Pješak” and “Jesen” increased by a significant percentage the number of detected crimes of ‘trafficking of persons” in relation to an earlier period.

Emphasizing that cooperation is the key in the fight against all forms of rime, he said that the BIH Border Police is open and committed to cooperation with agencies for law enforcement both within BIH and at the regional and international level.

Dumančić gave special attention to the cooperation with police bodies of neighboring countries that takes place every day at the border crossings, through mixed patrols, joint actions and working meetings.

He added that there is good cooperation established with BiH agencies that are included in integrated border management.

At the meeting they discussed the obligations of the BIH Border Police with Croatia’s accession to the EU, and Director Dumančić noted that this police agency completed all the necessary preparations for the arrival of an EU border with BiH.

Director Dumančić also thanked the representatives of the military-diplomatic corps for the support that their countries lent in the development of the BIH Border Polcie from its establishment.

Representatives of countries of the Diplomatic Corps expressed satisfaction with the work of the Border Police, saying that effective border control is one of the important elements for entry, and faster integration of BiH to the EU, and that the Border Police established a good foundation on the road to accession.
