Milk Producers from RS ready for New Controls by Representatives of FVO

milkThe quality of milk on farms in Republika Srpska meet the standards of the European Union (EU), as announced yesterday after a meeting of representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of RS with the purchasers and processors of raw milk, who are taking over milk from producers in RS.

Assistant of the minister of the veterinary sector Radmila Cojo announced that the representatives of the European  Food and Veterinary Office (FVO) will make additional control regarding the production of milk intended for the EU market from the 15th to 24th of March.

She stated that all the conditions for the export of milk are fulfilled.

The director of the Veterinary Institute of RS “Dr. Vaso Butozan” Drago Nedic also stated that the quality of raw milk and products made from raw milk by producers in the area of RS are equivalent to European products by safety and he believes that there will be no problems regarding marketing of these products on the European market.

One of the domestic producers, Jusuf Arifagic from Trnopolje near Prijedor, added that the export of milk on the international market is a profitable business and that the products are very good quality.
