SNSD President Milorad Dodik announced the death of war criminal Ratko Mladić, convicted of genocide and other crimes. He stated that Republika Srpska will not forget his role.
“The Republika Srpska, regardless of Sarajevo and political pressure from the West, remains dedicated to what Ratko Mladić was. The Republika Srpska will not forget his role, as it has not forgotten today,” said Dodik and added that they did everything they could to help him.
Dodik agreed with a journalist’s statement that Mladic was “killed in The Hague”, alluding to his health condition.
“The man who was the commander of the Army of the Republika Srpska in the fight for the freedom of the Serbian people died here, the commander who led the honorable Army of the Republika Srpska from the first day of its foundation, on May 12, 1992. A man who undoubtedly showed both his human and military character, regardless of the fact that, by inventing collective responsibility, they also put him in the story of responsibility for certain events,” said Dodik.
He added that Mladić would probably have lived longer if he had received other types of medical assistance.
“The fact emerges that everything was done by this Mechanism only so that he would, of course, die, because they did not know how to get out of that situation and it seemed to them that this might be the solution,” said Dodik.
Dodik pointed out that Mladić, as the commander of the army, came to the head “to defend the Serbs, not to commit any crimes against others”.
“The Army of the Republika Srpska was honorable and that’s why it can’t be found anywhere that it was condemned as such an organization,” said Dodik.
