Milorad Kolovic, the guardian of the started spa facilities at the spring of Crni Guber in Srebrenica, does not sit idly by at work. Although he is a locksmith by profession, he decided to make souvenirs from wood, which he finds in the immediate vicinity of his workplace, and he is the only producer and seller of souvenirs in the municipality.
Useful work
He emphasizes that there is free time in the workplace of the guard, and during his life he has not learned to sit idly by. Apart from the fact that his working hours pass faster, he decided, he says, to do something useful, which supplements the retirement budget.
“I was surprised by the good sale of souvenirs and I earn money. People come to the source of the Black Guber, consume water, wash the so-called eye water and beauty, they carry it in canisters, and when they leave, they always visit my modest souvenir stand, buy what they like and do not ask for the price – says Kolovic with smile.
Help from his wife
For the production of souvenirs, he uses dry wood, glue, sharp knives, some modest tools and a small electric machine. After the idea, he collects the material, processes it, assembles it, exhibits it at the stand and waits for the customers. While he makes wooden objects, his wife Sokolka makes small decorations.
Three years without pay
Kolovic says that his work obligation is to guard three covered spa facilities, but he is ashamed of the visitors of the Crni Guber spring because the facilities and paths are overgrown with low and high vegetation.
Since he does not have his own tools, he asked the owner of the “Guber” Spa to buy tools and clean the area free of charge. He also mentioned that he had not received any salary for three years of guard work, Avaz writes.
