Cantonal Ministries of Internal Affairs are the most important for the Federal Police Administration (FUP) and are the most important for the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) – emphasized the Federal Minister of Police Ramo Isak on the occasion of May 15th – Police Day of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDC).

He assessed that the FUP is one of the strongest police forces in Europe, not only in BiH.

“But, the most important element is these 10 branches that the FUP has, and those are the 10 cantonal Ministries of Internal Affairs. Cantonal Ministries of Internal Affairs are the most important for the FUP and the most important for all of BiH. The only security for the citizens of BiH are the cantonal Ministries of Internal Affairs and FUP. It has been proven, and you know very well all the things that have happened recently in our country – thanks to the quality coordination of the cantonal Ministries of Internal Affairs, FUP, and all those police forces that needed to get involved and that did get involved, we have security in the territory of BiH. There was no escalation because some intended to cause unrest, to cause war in our country,” said Isak.

He emphasized that it was precisely the cantonal Ministries of Internal Affairs and FUP who prevented that, who showed readiness, quality, and strength, and he thanked them for that.

“We need such a quality police, and the police needs to be further improved, and strengthened, and more funds in the budgets need to be provided. I congratulate the minister and the Government of ZDC, over 20 million has been secured for equipping the police forces of ZDC. These are impressive funds, which will provide everything necessary for the ZDC police to be able to respond to all the challenges placed before them,” said Isak.

He is especially pleased that the ZDC police will soon receive a helicopter as well, for which a tender has already been issued.

“If I have the correct information, the tender for the procurement of a helicopter in Canton Sarajevo (CS) has already been completed. That is my satisfaction because we in FUP have two helicopters at our disposal. We will probably also go into the procurement of new ones because you saw yourselves when problems occurred in Jablanica – landslides and floods – thanks to the FUP helicopter, certain lives were saved,” stated Isak.
