Minister Špiric met with IMF Delegation

nikola sipric1Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of B&H and Minister of Finance and Treasury Nikola Špirić received today in Sarajevo the delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission led by the head of the Mission Ron van Roden.

The joint assessment of today’s meeting, which was organized in the framework of the fourth stand-by arrangement with the IMF, is that there are fulfilled the conditions of the Letter of Intent from 30th  June 2013, which is included in this reporting period, is announced by the Ministry of Finance and Treasury.

At the meeting was agreed that institutions at the state level have fulfilled their part of obligations from the Letter of Intent, and in the near future should be focused on the budget planning for 2014.

During the discussion it was emphasized that it is necessary to strengthen controls in the collection of indirect taxes, to increase the transparency in this area, as was stated in the recommendations of the technical mission from IMF last year.

In the delegation of the IMF was the IMF Resident Representative in B&H Ruben Atojan.
