Montenegrin PM: I hope that the Disagreements in BiH will be resolved in the best Way

The Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dritan Abazovic, said that the policy of that country is continuously going in the right direction when it comes to relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and that he is very satisfied with how things are going.

He emphasized that Montenegro, like BiH, has challenges of an internal nature, but that he does not see any problems between the two countries.

Moreover, Abazovic states that, out of decency, he cannot comment on internal affairs in BiH, which are related to the latest decision of High Representative Christian Schmidt.

“I’m sorry that there are disagreements. I hope that you will resolve it, we can only send one appeal from Montenegro and hope that you will resolve it all in the best possible way, as befits democratic states and for the benefit of all citizens of BiH. As far as we are concerned, we can only say that we are for the best relations and that we support the territorial integrity and sovereignty of BiH. This is something we constantly repeat and is not a new decision, we will continue to do it continuously,” said Abazovic.

Commenting on the move of certain officials in BiH who openly supported Milo Djukanovic, the former president of Montenegro, Abazovic said that he had no problem with someone supporting someone politically.

“That is the legitimate right of every politician, including politicians from BiH. What I would send as a message is that they should not worry about Montenegro. Montenegro is good. Focus on yourself. That is my message, but I respect everyone’s opinion and do not get into motives,” Abazovic stated.

Moreover, Abazovic pointed out that he supports the Open Balkan initiative because every initiative that leads to regional cooperation is important to him.

“It is not a substitute to the European Union (EU), but a means by which all countries speed up their path towards the EU, which, I think, is the ultimate goal,” he emphasized, adding that Montenegro is always in favor of regional cooperation.
