Moon: Decisions on Reform in B&H By End of the Year

MoonPatrickOutgoing U.S. Ambassador to B&H Patrick Moon organized a farewell briefing for print media yesterday.

According to Dnevni Avaz, during the long discussion he answered a number of questions from journalists.

Among other things, he said that he expects that by the end of the year the recommendations of the expert team for reform in the FBiH would be accepted or rejected.

“I spoke about this with politicians and everyone said that they are for reform to the Constitution and think it is necessary. Some parties have one or two issues of which they wish to speak, and this should be discussed. Most of the recommendations are acceptable to all. There is no doubt that the adoption of the recommendations significantly changed things when it comes to the management of the FBiH. This is a historical opportunity for the FBiH to modernize its constitution and to ensure that this entity is ready to go into the future at a lower cost, more efficient administration that would serve citizens’’, said Moon.

He said that he will soon start to act as a political advisor to the Commander of the US Forces in Europe.

He said that the name of his successor is still not known, but that he expects that to be resolved soon.

He specified that B&H is not the only country in which a US Ambassador is not named.
