More than $2.6 Billion spent on US Presidential Campaign

Donald Trump and Kamala Harris predicted their victory as they campaigned across Pennsylvania and other key states on Monday in the final, frantic day of an extremely close US presidential election.

The campaign experienced dizzying twists and turns: two assassination attempts and a felony conviction of former Republican President Trump, and the surprising rise of Democratic Vice President Harris to the top of the list after President Joe Biden (81) dropped his bid for re-election under pressure from his party.

More than $2.6 billion has been spent to influence the minds of voters since March, according to AdImpact, an analytics firm.

However, polls show that Trump (78) and Harris (60) are almost tied. The winner may not be known for days after Tuesday’s vote, although Trump has already signaled that he will try to fight each defeat, as he did in 2020.

Both candidates predicted victory as they gathered in Pennsylvania on Monday to urge supporters who had not yet voted to turn out on Election Day. This state offers the largest share of Electoral College votes of any of the seven key states expected to determine the outcome.

Trump also campaigned in North Carolina and Michigan on the last full day of the campaign and was scheduled to return to his home in Palm Beach, Florida, to vote and await election results.

Harris had planned five campaign stops in Pennsylvania, including two cities Trump also visited, Reading and Pittsburgh.

She ended her day in Philadelphia with a star-studded event on the “Rocky steps” of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, site of the famous scene from the movie “Rocky.”
