borackoDuring the past weekend the 8th “Days of Boračko Lake 2016” manifestation was held. The whole event was organized by the following groups: Eco Association “Mountain eye”, in cooperation with the Triathlon Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Eco village Lake Boračko Ltd. from Konjic, “Sick Ship” environmental associations from Bukinje, “Protected natural areas KS”, and other non-governmental organizations.

Around 200 volunteers attended the three-day cleaning process of the coastal area of Lake Boračko. Among the volunteers were high school students, environmental activists and other nature lovers from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina, and a great contribution was also given by the employees of the PUC “Standard” from Konjic.

Free accommodation and food were provided for the volunteers. The Federal Minister for the Environment and Tourism, Edita Đapo, paid them a visit too, and this event also marked the beginning of the tourist summer season in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton.
