Landslides Endanger Houses and Roads in Bratunac, Zvornik and Lopare

landslideBratunac , Zvornik and Lopare are one of the municipalities in the Republic of Srpska which have major problems due to the activation of landslides.

According to the Civil Protection of RS, in Bratunac there are 126 active landslides and 170 evacuated people.

 

The following local roads are still blocked: Bratunac – Drinjača in Polom (landslide) and Bratunac – Skelani in Žlijebac (landslide).

In Zvornik more than 200 landslides are active. Kilometers of local roads have been destroyed or damaged and 200 houses are destroyed or damaged as well.

There is a possibility of moving minefields in the local community Šetići .

Moreover, 400 persons are evacuated from endangered areas and 250 objects were damaged.

On the area of ​​the entire municipality Lopare there are 270 landslides recorede so far which have endangered the electrical installations, telecommunication installations and a large number of houses.

More than 150 houses are directly threatened, 120 people were evacuated as well as eight large livestock.

Due to the landslides, there are still a large number of local and unclassified roads interrupted. Also, small area of the municipality is still without electricity supply.

In the local community Jablanica, due to the landslide, the water source is damaged and some of the population does not have water.
