The government in the Gaza Strip said that more than 9,000 people died in the blockaded enclave, which was under intense Israeli attacks, because they could not be given medical help due to the collapse of the health system.
Ismail es-Sevabite, Director General of the Government Media Office in Gaza, stated that 23 hospitals in the Gaza Strip are out of order due to Israeli attacks.
Pointing out that the death toll could rise due to the collapse of the health system in Gaza, Sevabite emphasized that more than 9,000 Palestinians lost their lives because they were not provided with adequate medical assistance.
He pointed out that the aid sent to the Gaza Strip is only sufficient for two percent of the needs in the health sector.
He stated that 1,000 aid trucks should be delivered daily to revitalize the health system in the Gaza Strip, which Israel continues its attacks on after 80 days.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the injured died due to the lack of active hospitals in the north of the blockaded enclave.
It was announced that Al-Ahli Hospital, which was the last active in Gaza City, has been out of service since December 19.
It was stated that the situation was out of control in the hospitals in the south of the Gaza Strip due to the lack of medical supplies, displaced persons taking refuge in hospitals and a large number of injured.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza often repeats its call to countries in the world and international organizations to establish mobile hospitals.
Israel began launching attacks on the Gaza Strip after a cross-border attack by Hamas on October 7, and since then at least 20,424 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed and 54,036 wounded.
Israeli attacks have left the Gaza Strip in ruins with half of its housing stock damaged or destroyed, and around two million people displaced within the densely populated Palestinian enclave with food and clean water in short supply, AA writes.
