More than Half of the local Communities in the RS have the Status of underdeveloped

Although we often hear about investments in local communities, the figures showing the level of development of these communities do not change much from year to year. More than half of the local communities in the Republika Srpska (RS) are underdeveloped or extremely underdeveloped, as many as 35 of them.

Namely, the Government of the RS adopted the Decision on the level of development of local self-government units in the RSfor 2025.

According to that decision, only 17 local communities in RS are considered developed, namely Banja Luka, Bijeljina, Gacko, Gradiska, Derventa, Doboj, Zvornik, Istocna Ilidza, IstocnoNovo Sarajevo, Laktasi, Mrkonjic Grad, Pale, Prijedor, Prnjavor, Tenants, Teslic, Trebinje and Ugljevik.

The medium-developed units of local government are: Bileca, Brod, Kozarska Dubica, Kotor Varos, Milici, Modrica, Sokolac, Srbac, Foca and Celinac are, according to this decision of the Government, medium-developed communities, while underdeveloped communities are Bratunac, Visegrad, Vlasenica, donji Zabar, Kostajnica, Ljubinje, Nevesinje, Novi Grad, Petrovac, Petrovo, Ribnik, Rogatica, Han Pijesak, Samac and Sipovo.

Extremely underdeveloped local self-government units are: Berkovici, Vukosavlje, Istocni Drvar, Istocni Mostar, IstocniStari Grad, Jezero, Kalinovik, Knezevo, Krupa na Uni, Kupres, Lopare, Novo Gorazde, Osmaci, Ostra Luka, Pelagicevo, Rudo, Srebrenica, Trnovo, Cajnice and Sekovici, N1 writes.
