After receiving information that mortal remains were found at the Rostovo site, which could belong to the missing victims of Croatian ethnicity from the area of Bugojno, a Prosecutor from the Special Department for War Crimes was contacted by the Institute for Missing Persons and the police of the Ministry of the Interior of Central Bosnia Canton at that area, and he subsequently issued an order that the location be secured, encircled with police protective tape, and subjected to police surveillance.
Having received information about the existence of mortal remains at the said location, the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina requested that all the works be stopped until the process of exhumation and search for mortal remains was completed.

There is information that the aforementioned site, which is in private ownership, contains mortal remains of the missing persons of Croatian ethnicity from the area of Bugojno, who have been searched for without success for more than two decades.

During the day, contacts were made with authorized persons from the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina and other authorized institutions, so that the activities necessary for issuing an order for exhumation could be completed as soon as possible.

After receiving the necessary information, the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina will submit a request for exhumation to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, so that further activities related to the process of exhumation could be undertaken.

All construction works, or any other works planned to be executed at the aforementioned location will be suspended pending the completion of the exhumation process.
