What is the Number of employed Persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina?

In May 2020, the number of persons in paid employment in Bosnia and Herzegovina was 808.868, out of which there were 348.698 women. As compared to April 2020, the number of persons in paid employment remained the same and the number of employed women also decreased by 0,2%, according to data from BiH’s Agency for Statistics.

The number of registered unemployed persons in May 2020 compared to April 2020 decreased by 04% and the number of unemployed women decreased by 0,2%.

The average monthly paid net salary in Bosnia and Herzegovina in May amounted to 940 BAM and was nominally lower by 1.2 percent compared to December last year and higher by 1.4 percent compared to May last year.

The lowest average net salary in May was in the provision of accommodation, food preparation and serving and amounted to 543 BAM, in construction 634 BAM, while the average net salary in administrative and support service activities amounted to 654 BAM, according to Bosnian Agency for Statistics.

In financial and insurance activities, the average net salary in May amounted to 1,543 BAM, in the production and supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning 1,432 BAM, while the average net salary in information and communications was 1,327 BAM.

The average monthly gross salary in BiH in May amounted to 1,450 BAM and was nominally lower by 1.4 percent compared to December last year, and higher by 1.4 percent compared to May last year.
