Mostar Airport connected to Six New Destinations

Today in Mostar, the official opening of the airline company Sky Alps was held at the Mostar Airport. In this way, Mostar is connected with as many as six new destinations, five of them to Italy and one to Germany.

The new air connection with these countries was announced as an important step forward in strengthening tourism and economic cooperation between BiH and Italy and Germany. The interest in these trips is constantly growing from year to year.

With the landing of the ‘bombardier’, the base of the Sky Alps airline company at Mostar Airport was officially opened. A big step both for Mostar and for tourism in the whole of Herzegovina was highlighted at today’s ceremony.

“I would say that this is a historic moment because for the first time at the Airport in Mostar we have a base plane in accordance with the announcements and agreements with the Sky Alps company. This is today the first flight that actually opens 6 destinations, 5 Italian and 1 German, and according to the director, these are already full flights. This is just a continuation of the tourist story of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton,” said Marija Buhač, Prime Minister of HNK.

“It’s an immense thing when we consider that two and a half years ago we didn’t have a single passenger, and this year we hope to welcome a figure of one hundred thousand”, said Emil Balavac, Minister of Trade, Tourism and Environmental Protection of the Croatian National Railways.

Mostar Airport also says that they expect record numbers this year, and the new lines that opened today will be of great benefit towards that goal.

“The estimate is somewhere between 75 thousand and 80 thousand passengers, unlike last year when we had 50, and we are now already conducting negotiations for 2026, where the goal is to continue this growth to exceed those 100 thousand passengers,” emphasizes Marko Đuzel, director of Mostar Airport.

Bergamo, Palermo, Naples, Rome, Bari and Munich are the new lines with which Mostar is connected today, whose airport continues with ambitious plans, and such events confirm that Mostar has once again become an important point on the aviation map of the region, Federalna writes.
