TimeOut: “When It Comes to Value for Money in Europe, Few Places Can Compare to Bosnia and Herzegovina”

TimeOut magazine has highlighted the best budget-friendly destinations in Europe, ranking Bosnia and Herzegovina first. The magazine noted that, in terms of value for money, few places in Europe can compare to the country.

TimeOut selected six European countries as the most affordable destinations and explained what that means.

“Of course, a clarification is needed. ‘Cheap’ means‘unpretentious,’ with a focus on value for money and overall affordability. Western Europe leaves much to be desired in this regard, while the eastern side of the continent is doing the heavy lifting,” they stated.

They emphasized that there is no need to “break the piggy bank” before packing your suitcase to visit the countries on the list.

Bosnia and Herzegovina was ranked first on TimeOut’s list of Europe’s best value-for-money destinations.

“When it comes to value for money in Europe, few places can compete with Bosnia and Herzegovina. Sarajevo and Mostar remain relatively affordable, but the real value lies elsewhere in the country, particularly in the central region,” the magazine noted.

“Travnik is a true delight, a small town packed with splendid architecture and some of the best grilled meat in the country, while it remains astonishing that Jajce is not overrun with tourists. The town even features waterfalls in its very center. Whether you’re admiring the wild horses of Livno, learning about the importance of salt in Tuzla, embarking on adrenaline adventures in Foča, or experiencing pure bliss at Janjske otoke, Bosnia and Herzegovina is Europe at its most magnificent (and most affordable),” the magazine wrote.

Lithuania ranked second, neighboring Serbia third, followed by Poland, Albania, and Bulgaria, Klix.ba writes.
