President Herceg introduced members of the Chinese delegation with the potentials of the Herzegovina-Neretva County, and he noted the opportunities for cooperation in various sectors, especially economy, agriculture, tourism, education and culture. During the presentation of Government’s activities that are aimed at creating a framework for stronger development of the County, he noted that the strategic goals are establishment of an effective sustainable management system, the development of competitive entrepreneurship, agriculture, tourism and energy production from renewable energy sources, preservation of cultural and natural heritage as well as improvement of environmental protection and the quality of life.

“I believe that after previous meetings in Mostar and the participation of the Government delegation at the Third Conference of local leaders of China and countries of Central and Eastern Europe that took place last year, today we strengthened mutual cooperation that will result in concrete projects soon,” stated Herceg.

Ma Peihua, the Vice President of the Chinese Political Consultative People’s Conference spoke on behalf of the Chinese delegation, and stated that the goal of this visit to the HNC is to deepen the economic cooperation and all the other forms of cooperation.

“During the meeting with President Herceg and representatives of local companies, we concluded that there is a great potential for our future cooperation,” said Vice-President Peihua, and added that he saw a great potential for cooperation in sectors of energy, agriculture and mining, especially tourism, and they expressed their believe that the HNC and Mostar will be an important tourist destination for the Chinese in the future.
