Sarajevo Film Festival announced with great pleasure that the omnibus ‘Mostovi Sarajevo’ (Bridges of Sarajevo)/Les Ponts de Sarajevo, initiated by Obala Art Center/Sarajevo City of Film and the French production company Cinétévé and realized in co-production with partners from Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Bulgaria have been included in the official program of this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
Short films that make up the omnibus are directed by: ida Begić, Leonardo Di Costanza, Jean-Luc Godard, Kamen Kalev, Isild Le Besco, Sergei Loznitsa, Vincenzo Marra, Ursula Meier, Vladimir Perišić, Cristi Puiu, Marc Recha, Angela Schanelec and Teresa Villaverde. Producers of the films are Mirsad Purivatra, Jovan Marjanović and Fabienne Servan Schreiber.
After its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, where it will be shown as part of the program Special Screenings, the film ‘Mostovi Sarajevo’ will be shown to the public in Sarajevo on 27 June, as part of the marking of the 100 years since the start of WWI. It will then be shown at the 20th Sarajevo Film Festival, and then in cinemas throughout B&H.
The film omnibus is supported by a number of European foundations and television stations, and from B&H the partners of the project are Foundation Sarajevo Srce Evrope, Mission Centenaire, French Institute B&H and Center Andre Malraux.
This film also represents a milestone for Sarajevo the city of film, project of Sarajevo Film Festival, which will focus together with its main partner Atlantic Group on the production of feature films.
