Motorway through Herzegovina means Construction of Tunnel Prenj and Detour of Blagaj?

corridorIn the FBiH was adopted the Spatial Plan of the special characteristics of interest for the FBiH “Corridor 5C”, which will be valid for the next 20 years from the date of publication of the Decision on the adoption of the plan in the Official Gazette of FBiH.

Thus, the contribution to continue the construction of Corridor 5C was accomplished, and another 175 kilometers will be constructed. The FBiH is using 92 km of the highway on Corridor 5C, and by the end of 2018 in the function should be new 40 km.

“The adoption of the plan means creating conditions for the economic development of the country as well as regional integration through better transport links between major cities in BiH and neighboring countries. The implementation of the road capital project Highway on Corridor 5C has developed character, the possibility of new urban centers located right next to corridor,” said Minister of Physical Planning of FBiH, Josip Martic.

“In this way were created conditions for engaging in construction activity and starting the cycle of investment in the FBiH, ” said Martic.

The most important changes that are envisaged by amendments refer to the section Konjic (loop Ovcara) – Mostar North. They enable cheaper and better solution of tunneling Prenj and shorten the route of the highway for 18 kilometers, as well a the higher profitability of the project.

With the change of position of the loop Mostar South will be provided a faster connection between the motorway and the main road M17.

“Change of the location of the route on sub-section Mostar South-Pocitelj caused the change of location of the route to the previous section Mostar North – Mostar South. These sections also represent bypass of the city of Mostar,” said Martic, adding that the installation of energy infrastructure, water supply, telecommunications and PTT installations were enabled as well.
