VEÈERAS OTVARANJE DIONICE AUTOCESTE NA SARAJEVSKOJ ZAOBILAZNICIThe director of Public Enterprise “Autoceste Federacije BiH” (FBiH Motorways) Ensad Karić said that constructions on the 5-C corridor, at the section Sarajevo west – Tarčin are approaching to an end. The experts claim that the entire section is to be done in two months.

“Already in September we will connect to the ‘doors of Herzegovina’ with Zenica, including the tunnel ‘March 1′,” said Karić when visiting the section Tarčin – Sarajevo west which that enterprise organized for the media today.

Karić said that this is a very challenging section and in the first five kilometers of the motorway from Tarčin to Lepenica there are more than four kilometers of tunnels. Also, there are three loops and many bridges and viaducts.

“This very challenging section which has one third of the total 20 kilometers which are comprised of tunnels,” Karić added.

He said that construction will be completed within the given deadline and financial terms.

“Everything will be done within the given budget and signed contracts. The entire section from Tarčin to Sarajevo will cost less than 700 million KM and which is within the given contract,” Karić said.

He said that traveling from Tarčin to Zenica will take as much time as ti use to take to travel through the Sarajevo suburb Stup.

This exquisite strategic and traffic project for Bosnia and Herzegovina is comprised of three sub-sections: Sarajevo west – Lepenica (10.1 kilometers), Lepenica – Suhodol (5.5 km) and Suhodol – Tarčin (4.6 km). The construction is being done by the renowned Turkish company Cengiz Insaat.

Executive Director for design and construction of FBiH Motorways Jasmin Bučo said that the tunnel “November 25” in this section is almost three kilometers long, extremely complex and similar to the tunnel “March 1”.

“The tunnel is complex from the security aspect. Security systems within the tunnel and fire alarms are set in line with the latest European directives since this is a pan-European corridor,” Bučo added.

Journalists visited facilities in the following sections – loop Tarčin, tunnel Grab, tunnel November 25, bridges M2 and M1, tunnel Igman, tunnel Gaj, viaduct Šamin Gaj, toll stop Sarajevo west, viaduct Gladno Polje and loop Sarajevo west.
