Msgr. Tomo Vuksic sent an Easter Message to all Faithful

Archbishop of Vrhbosna and Apostolic Administrator of the Military Ordinariate in Bosnia and Herzegovin Msgr. Tomo Vukšić sent an Easter message on the occasion of the greatest Christian holiday of Easter.

On this occasion, Archbishop Vukšić recalled the season of Lent immediately before Easter, when Catholics prepare for the celebration of Easter by listening to the Word of God and by personal and communal prayer for their spiritual development, by fasting and other forms of renunciation for self-education and by good deeds, which are often called acts of charity to help those in need. Believers do all this for their transformation, that is, for the conversion from bad and growth into good.

He pointed out that according to the teaching of Jesus, the question: who is my neighbor is not allowed because all people are brothers and sisters to each other. That is why the only justified question is: how can I be close to others, and in what way can I help and thus make myself close?

“It is important to remember that. And it is a happy circumstance that on these days, Catholics, Orthodox, and Muslims are fasting at the same time. We want them to agree in doing good deeds,” said Archbishop of Vrhbosna Tomo Vukšić.

He emphasizes that at a time when the number of people in need is increasing, we need to repeat that God created earthly goods to be at the service of all people and that these goods exist so that every person can live in a dignified way. That is their general purpose.

He reminds that good deeds and mercy towards people in need, along with prayer, fasting and penance, are one of the three indispensable elements of Christian piety and behavior, especially during the preparation for the Easter holiday.

“On the contrary, they are the fruit of prayer and penance. In fact, according to Christian teaching, it is by these three things that the Christian faith becomes visible and exists, piety is maintained and manifested, and virtue is strengthened and lasts. Those three are one and are a mutual source of spiritual life,” he said.

The Archbishop of Vrhbosna points out that the healthy personal piety of the Christian believer always manifests itself in kindness towards neighbors and thus always has a social connotation, Fena reports.
