cormack_sastanak-696x456Through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Embassy of the USA in BiH is implementing a project in the field of agriculture worth 16.3 million BAM and the project is to last from this year until January 2021.

Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of Republika Srpska pointed out yesterday that Republika Srpska is strongly committed to the European integration in all sectors, including agriculture.

Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of RS Stevo Mirjanić and the Ambassador of the USA to BiH Maureen Cormack met yesterday in Banja Luka at a gathering organized by the U.S. Embassy on the topic “Agriculture and the process of integration into the European Union”.

The Ministry of Agriculture of RS stated that they are continuously fulfilling all obligations regarding the adjustment of that sector with the EU standards. Those obligations refer to the adjustment of legal regulations with the acquis of the EU, as well as to the institutional construction and construction of capacities for application of EU standards.

What is yet to be done in terms of fulfillment of conditions for the use of pre-accession funds is the harmonization of strategic and legal acts between entities, as well as harmonization of institutional mechanism for the use of pre-accession funds.

The convention was attended by representatives of public, business and civil sector from the entire BiH.
