Multimedia Exhibition dedicated to Halid Beslic opens Tonight

The multimedia exhibition “Will You Guard My Dear Fairy When the City is Blurred” dedicated to Halid Bešlić will open tonight at 7 p.m. in the garden of the Hotel Europe.

The author of the project and the exhibition is Amina Abdičević, whose vision and creative approach form the core of this multimedia project. The graphic design of the exhibition was designed by Branko Dursum, while the art contribution is signed by Addis Elias Fejzić.

Amina Abdičević previously stated for Fena that the location of the exhibition – the garden of the Hotel Europe – was chosen because of its symbolism, which, like the music of Halid Bešlić, connects generations, verses and time.

“I am making an exhibition about Halid who was, above all, an incredibly good and noble man, about Halid who loved his Romanija, his native village of Vrapce and Knežak izvor more than all the metropolises of the world. About Halid for whom the sounds of his village were the most beautiful music… Well, I am making an exhibition about that Halid,” she told Fena news agency at the time.

She pointed out that Halid was a man of the people, who was close to everyone, who when he found himself in a pharmacy or store and saw that someone was in need, did not think twice about paying the bills for all the people standing in line, who sent helicopters with food to his native village in Romanija due to snowfall and the impossibility of access.

“During the war, he bought repeaters for television stations so that they could broadcast their programs, he was a man who opened the doors of his motel to everyone who needed it during the great floods that hit BiH, who held more than 500 humanitarian concerts, received refugees in his apartment and extended a hand to everyone… That’s what I’m making an exhibition about Halid,” said Abdičević.

Visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity, in addition to numerous photo documentation and archival material that is presented, to read her author’s texts about Halid’s career and his close associates. It will be an opportunity for everyone to chronologically go through the life and work of Halid Bešlić, from his first public appearances, through the cult albums of the 1980s and 1990s, and all the way to the modern period, in which, despite decades of musical creativity behind him, he remained equally loved and respected.

A special segment of the exhibition is dedicated to the most recognizable moments of his career, legendary concerts, as well as collaborations with musical artists from across the region.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to read testimonies from colleagues, friends and associates of Halid Bešlić, statements and reviews that speak of his exceptionally rich career, artistic path, but above all, of his warmth, modesty and big heart.
