DutchBatAt the Memorial Centre in Potočari the construction works of building the Museum of the Dutch Battalion started. The first phase of the works is ongoing and the whole project should be completed by the end of 2015. This project is supported by the Dutch organization PAX – reports the Anadolu Agency.

Mersed Smajlović, director of the Memorial Centre in Potočari said for the AA that the former building of the laboratory and control of the ex-factory of batteries will be transformed into the Museum of the Dutch Battalion.

“The implementation of this project will have two or maybe even three phases. The first phase will last 120 days and implies architectural and construction works at the entire object. After that we will proceed to phase two which will last 150 days. Our aim is to make this object’s interior equipped like it was in the 1995. Along with our partner, the Dutch organization PAX with who we signed a memorandum on trust, we will try to equip this object with furniture in accordance with that period.” – said Smajlović.

He added that audio and video equipment, photos, maps and all items which were there in 1995 will be procured.

So far the entrance block with signs of UN and the ‘Dutch’ Battalion as well as library and a multimedia room are made.
