On occasion of marking 100 years since the beginning of the World War 1, the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra will, in cooperation with the choir of the town Bremen, perform one of the most famous works in the sacral music literature – the German Requiem by Brahms.
Bremer RathsChor is founded with a goal to perform choir music at high level. Intensive rehearsals and the knowledge they draw from historical performances are the basics of their work which led them to cooperate with excellent orchestras. The repertoire of the choir includes secular and sacral music. At their numerous annual concerts they perform oratories and classic a-capella works from several centuries.
They developed a truly recognizable “Bremer” sound characterized by high transparency, clear tone and homogeneity. Magdalene Harer will perform as a sopran and Jorg Gottschick as baritone while the orchestra will be led by Jan Hubner.
The Bremer RatsChor’s visit is supported by the German Ministry of foreign affairs. Mrs MarieLuise Beck, member of the German Bundestag, will accompany the choir.
The concert will be held on October 23rd in the National Theatre Sarajevo and on October 24th in Mostar at the “Herceg Stjepan Kosača” hall at 20:00 o’clock.
Entrance is free.
