Muslims Ahmed and Muhamed returned 115 Thousand Euros they found to Christian Srđan

115 000 Euros thetimes.co.ukIn an era where we are exposed daily to acts of violence, injustice, crime, mischief, and lies, there are few examples of acts of kindness that can embellish life.

Srđan, a businessman from Sarajevo who lives in Germany, contacted the editorial staff of Klix.ba, wanting to share his story of the honesty of two young men, Ahmed and Muhamed.

Srđan said that he spent the last few weeks in Sarajevo with the intention to start a small business, which would open several job positions.

“When I went to make a payment, due to so many phone calls from people with whom I was supposed to meet, and being a bit worn down, I forgot my bag with all of my documents and the money on the roof of my car. When I realized that I didn’t have the bag, I tried to remember where I had forgotten it. In that moment, my phone rang”, Srđan began his story.

Two young men found Srđan’s bag on his car, with Srđan’s business card, personal documents, and 115,000 euros inside of it. On the phone was one of the young men calling him, and asking him to confirm his name.

“As most people, and like anyone, I would say I believe in moral values, kindness, mutual respect, and hope for a better and more beautiful world for all of us. I work and earn fairly, at a place in a country where work is more valued than it is the case in our B&H. Lost and frightened, I went to meet with the guys. I came across Ahmed and Muhamed, two smiling young men, who said to me after my endless thanksgiving: ‘Someone else’s is someone else’s’”, says Srđan.

Srđan added that he insisted on rewarding both men, but they refused any form of compensation, in which he rewarded them anyway.

“I did this mostly because it was a heroic act in this time of despair and crisis. It is in my least interest to make this case public, but I would feel injustice and cowardice towards these two heroes without making this story known. The people of Bosnia and Herzegovina have always stumbled upon the same problems and divisions, but it is one hardworking, honest, and heroic nation. On the wings of this and many other shining examples, the people can rise from the ashes like a phoenix, and light up in full splendor, as befits this noble people”, concluded Srđan.
