Tonight, after the Maghrib prayer, the 27th night of the holy month of Ramadan will start. This night is believed to be one of the most important nights for all Muslims.

According to the Islamic beliefs, Laylat al-Qadr is special and one of the most important nights in Islam. The holy Quran says that this night is better than 1,000 other months.

However, Islamic law does not specify when exactly the Laylat al-Qadr is. According to the Prophets words, it is in the last third of the month of Ramadan in one of the odd nights, and it is also referred that Laylat al-Qadr could be on the 25th, 27thor 29th night of Ramadan.

The tradition of celebrating Laylat al-Qadr for Bosnian Muslims is related to the 27th night of the month of Ramadan, however, the night prayers and other acts of worship are especially enhanced in the last third of the holy month of Ramadan, in order for believers not to miss this special night.

The value of Laylat al-Qadr is shown in the fact that the revelation of Holy Qur’an started in it. Also, the Qur’an says that the angels descend in this night, and that all the decisions are made in it.

This year’s central event of the celebration of Laylat al-Qadr at the level of the Islamic Community in BiH will take place in the Gazi Husrev-Bey’s Mosque in Sarajevo.
