Muzaferija concluded her Olympic Performance and sent an important Message to State Institutions

Representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the giant slalom, Elvedina Muzaferija and Esma Alić, finished in 32nd and 51st place respectively at the Winter Olympic Games.

The gold medal was won by Federica Brignone and in the end she celebrated with a time of 2:13.50, 62 hundredths ahead of Sweden’s Sara Hector and Norway’s Thea Louise Stjernesund, who shared the silver medal.

Muzaferija was 7.17 seconds behind the Italian, while Alić was 22.33 seconds behind.

In addition to her sporting achievements, Muzaferija used the opportunity to call on state institutions to provide concrete support for sports in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She emphasized that without a system and adequate support, athletes work and achieve their maximum thanks to their own persistence, the support of families and small teams around them.

She also pointed out that many criticisms of the placements, for example 16th place, which some consider bad, do not take into account the hard struggle and limited resources with which athletes work.

“I am happy, but I will use this opportunity to call on all the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina to support us and help us achieve our goals, because this is the maximum we can achieve without support and without a system… That is why I am using the opportunity to call on all state institutions to pass a law on sports and provide us with support, because that is the only way we can win medals at the world championships and the Olympic Games,” said Muzaferija.

At the end, she thanked everyone for their support and announced the continuation of the activity. She invited the public to follow the performances of the other Olympians until the end of the WOG, and tomorrow she will travel to Andorra, where she will continue to train and compete in the FIS World Cup in fast disciplines.
