Muzaferija: Today I felt terrible, but tomorrow I want a very good Result

In the last, final Super-G race of the Audi FIS Ski Cup for women, which was held today in Saalbach, Austria, the best skier from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elvedina Muzaferija did not achieve her goal. With starting number 19, the young woman from Visoko started bravely and in the first sector had the second fastest time of the race, but not long after that, a loss of balance threw her off the track.

Visibly disappointed, fortunately without serious injuries, she left the track.

“In the first sector I managed to be very good. After that you saw what happened, a moment of imbalance cost me. Although I know that is part of skiing, I felt terrible. However, I have no time to lose. It’s only a matter of time when I put together the course with the same dynamics from start to finish, and if I ski tomorrow like the first sector today, it can be a very good result. Tomorrow I want to ski better and make all those who cheer for me happy. Especially those who came to Saalbach for me.” said Muzaferija.

The Frenchwoman Laura Gauche did not finish today’s race either, as she lost control of her skis in the same part of the track where Muzaferija finished today’s performance.

Ester Ledecka emerged as the winner, and Federica Brignone and Kajsa Lie Vickhoff were also on the podium. Overall leader Lara Gut Behrami finished seventh today, but that was enough to keep the lead for the Small Crystal Globe.

Despite the fact that our best alpine skier was left with no points today, this season will be remembered for the first participation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the World Cup final, and the historic 23rd placing of Elvedina Muzaferija in the ranking of the Super-G discipline. Today’s starting number also entered the annals of BiH skiing, and one of the most beautiful moments in Saalbach is certainly the great support from the stands.

Let’s wish Elvedina good luck tomorrow in the final downhill race, which is scheduled for 11:15 a.m.
