Accommodation facilities for New Year’s Eve in Sarajevo are fully filled, the president of the Touristic Association of Canton Sarajevo (CS), Nermin Muzur told to agency Fena.
The Touristic Association of CS also provided free accommodation in Sarajevo for media from the region, during New Year holidays and a free video chat for live reporting from Sarajevo streets.
Muzur points out that “Visit Sarajevo press centers” will be located near the Cathedral, Eternal Flame and the Square of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), where a three-day New Year program will be organized.
“We do not have a system that tracks and consolidates data about accommodation and booked places, but I personally called to make a reservation for journalists and I could not manage to find available rooms anymore. On the reservation websites, the capacities are filled by more than 90 percent, and in communication with hotels and other accommodation facilities in our vicinity, we have found out that they do not have any free beds, “ he stated.
As he pointed out, in the regional promotion of Sarajevo’s winter tourism potential, visitors were extremely pleased with the offer in Sarajevo, as well as the offer of new facilities on Bjelasnica.
“The capacities on Bjelasnica are also fully booked because after the celebration, tourists will be able to prolong their vacation and go skiing,” Muzur said, recalling that all visitors welcome New Year outdoors in Sarajevo with Zdravko Colic.
He pointed out that the night before the New Year’s Eve, graduates of the Sarajevo Music Academy gathered in the Philharmonic Orchestra will have a concert in front of the Cathedral, while the first day of 2018, a concert of “Crvena Jabuka” will be held in front of the Eternal Flame.
Muzur said that Sarajevo for the first time this year has a three-day celebration and numerous events which attract a large number of tourists.
According to the estimates of the Touristic Association of CS, more than 100.000 tourists are expected this year.
