The National Day of Remembrance for Srebrenica, “Remembering Srebrenica”, will be held today at St Paul’s Cathedral in London.

The event will be attended by around two thousand distinguished guests, including the Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, members of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović and Željko Komšić, the Reisu-l-Ulema of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina Husein Efendi Kavazović and Munira Subasic from the Association “Mothers of the Enclaves of Srebrenica and Žepa”.

“Humanity has survived its darkest times, but few events have stained our collective conscience as much as the genocide in Srebrenica”, the organisers said.

Four days later, a Peace March is planned in the United Kingdom.
