The University of Zenica (UNZE) hosted the National Robotics Competition, in which 18 teams from Sarajevo, Zenica and Tuzla participated in the City Arena “Husejin Smajlovic”.
The winners in all three categories will represent Bosnia and Herzegovina at the World Robot Olympics, which will be held from November 17 to 19 in Dortmund, Germany.
The first places at today’s competition in Zenica, in the Elementary group category, were won by the team KSCRobotElementary (Catholic School Center St. Paul from Zenica); in the Junior group category, STEM J2 from Tuzla won, and in the Senior group competition, the Zenica senior team.
“Representatives from more than 70 countries will take part in the world festival in Dortmund, including these three winning teams from today’s competition. This was the second competition organized by UNZE, and last year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, we were forced to organize it online,” they stated.
“Now the conditions have been met to hold the competition live, in the City Arena “Husejin Smajlović”, which has proven to be extremely functional,” said the main coordinator of the competition for BiH, Malik Cabaravdic, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Quality Control of UNZE.
He notes that the World Robotics Olympics has been held since 2004, and the next year, 2023, will be hosted by Panama..
