Bosnia and Herzegovina will host Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, on April 16 and 17, 2025, in what is set to be one of the most important defense and security events in the country this year.

During his visit, meetings will take place at the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina with top civilian and military officials. Discussions will focus on enhancing cooperation between NATO and Bosnia and Herzegovina, boosting interoperability, and further strengthening defense capabilities in response to evolving security challenges.

A key part of the program includes a visit to the Faculty of Criminalistics, Criminology and Security Studies at the University of Sarajevo, where Cavo Dragone will deliver a lecture titled “NATO Perspectives on Global Security.” Students will have the opportunity to engage directly with one of NATO’s leading military figures and discuss issues relevant to the country’s security environment.

The Chairman is also scheduled to meet officials at the Office of the High Representative and visit the House of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where talks will address current security challenges, regional stability, and the role of international partners in maintaining peace.

A visit to the Rajlovac Barracks will showcase a demonstration exercise by units of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, highlighting their training level, operational readiness, and alignment with NATO standards.

This high-level visit underscores Bosnia and Herzegovina’s ongoing commitment to deepening its partnership with NATO and reflects the continued focus of the international community on stability and security in the Western Balkans.
